A tool to avoid the fools- or how to avoid the rights propaganda machine

I must hand it to the republicans- they have mastered the art of manipulation of public perception on “the issues”, which all too often- aren’t even issues. They have an army of pundits and bloggers getting their taling points out daily- sometimes even hourly. And of you try and google many of their claims- you get burried in pages and pages of the exact same talking points- often the exact same text, and often with no evidence at all, or questionable analysis of the “facts”. (Disreaeli’s “Lies, damned lies, and statistics pops to mind)

So a tool I love- and too few seem to know about, is Google Scholar . It allows you to search among referenced, scientivic, evidence, and research backed results.

Amazingly- this simple tool strips out a great deal of the rights propaganda machine, as well as the few on the left.

I must issue a warning though- this can be extremely disturbing. You quickly realize just how much manipulation, lies, innuendo, and half-truths the right is employing in so many arguements. And unless you believe the rights leaders are idiots- which I don’t, the only other option is that they are more then willing to outright lie to america, and to their own supporters, in order to advance their own goals.

About drugsandotherthings

I am a criminal. Because I have used cannabis and psychedelics extensively. I have tried many other drugs, but never cared for the uppers, downers, or dissociatives. I love craft beer, and absinthe, but don't care much for alcohols effects- which quite frankly, are boring and dangerous. Science is my religion. I am in my 40's, and have travelled extensively. And often forced myself outside of my confort zone. I am employed, a respected member of my communtiy, an animal lover, an environmentalist, a political junkie, and the realities I have experienced continue to push me further to the left of the political spectrum.

It’s all a game of propaganda isn’t it ? The Nazis were the best at it. Remember the “If you repeat a lie long enough people will believe it ?” Hey, here’s a quote to try Google Scholar on.
