Obama supports gay marriage. The silence from the right is deafening- and speaks volumes

Since Obama came out and said he supports gay marriage- the response from the politicians on the right has been largely…silence. And this says far more then their words.

Yes…Romney made his mild statement, instead of his normal pounce when he feels he has an upper hand,  of lamely saying he believes marriage is between a man and a women.

But the rest of the GOP has been silent. And while they know full well the radical religious right is gearing up their vitriolic attacks , they know full well this is the “anyone but Obama” crowd- who will even vote for an often libaral mormon (yes- this is the man who essentially passed Obamacare in his own state).

But the GOP is terrified. The mass of america- those that hover around the center…while having varied views on the issue are largely concerned with other issues, and tend to look poorly on hateful politics.

Their silence speaks volumes. They were not prepared for this. And they know they already have the haters on board. And they have no idea how to handle the rest. So they remain silent. And quietly play the propaganda game of how much this will hurt Obama…

About drugsandotherthings

I am a criminal. Because I have used cannabis and psychedelics extensively. I have tried many other drugs, but never cared for the uppers, downers, or dissociatives. I love craft beer, and absinthe, but don't care much for alcohols effects- which quite frankly, are boring and dangerous. Science is my religion. I am in my 40's, and have travelled extensively. And often forced myself outside of my confort zone. I am employed, a respected member of my communtiy, an animal lover, an environmentalist, a political junkie, and the realities I have experienced continue to push me further to the left of the political spectrum.

One Response to Obama supports gay marriage. The silence from the right is deafening- and speaks volumes

I’ve been following your blog for some time now, and I can’t help but think that if the right had been making a big stink over this, you would comment negatively on it in that case as well. Isn’t it possible that the Romney campaign and the right in general simply doesn’t feel it is worth going down the rabbit hole on this? Gay marriage has no business being a presidental election issue. Especially not with the state our country is in. It just isn’t that important, big picture-wise. Just my opinion.
