Memorial Day- Remember the Iraq War Dead (and wounded, and damaged)

This memorial day americans should think about those killed, wounded, and forever changed by the Iraq war. A war based on lines- waged with no moral justification whatsoever.

4,486 killed. (257 since Obama took office). At least 33,184 wounded. (some estimates place the numbers 3X as high). Well over 100,00 documented civilin deaths.

A military suicide rate that has increased 80% since the Iraq war began ( a suicide at least every 80 minutes). Alcohol abuse uo 54%. Domestic and child abuse up. The rate of motorcycle and car accidents up. Not including the stress- and deaths, drug use, and violence suffered by family members.

Or the over $800 Billion dollar burden this put on americans (not including the very real impact at the gas pumpthis war created).

So- never again folks. Don’t let yourselves be lied to like this. The costs are too damn high- for all of us except those responsible.

About drugsandotherthings

I am a criminal. Because I have used cannabis and psychedelics extensively. I have tried many other drugs, but never cared for the uppers, downers, or dissociatives. I love craft beer, and absinthe, but don't care much for alcohols effects- which quite frankly, are boring and dangerous. Science is my religion. I am in my 40's, and have travelled extensively. And often forced myself outside of my confort zone. I am employed, a respected member of my communtiy, an animal lover, an environmentalist, a political junkie, and the realities I have experienced continue to push me further to the left of the political spectrum.
