If Obama Wins, Will We See a Civil War…(In the GOP)?

There is absolutely no debating we have seen a tea-party influenced shift of the GOP to the far right over the past few years. With numerous long serving, ranking, and highly respected GOP congressman forced out in the midterms and the primaries leading up to this election.

And Romeny insiders have recently leaked that Chris Christie, the NJ governor whose recent praise of Obama and his response to hurricane Sandy has certainly hurt Romeny’s momentum, had been Romeny’s first choice. But he went with the Ayn Rand embracing, tea-party golden boy Paul Ryan to appease the far right.

But if Romeny looses? Will the GOP stand up to it’s loud minority? Admit that they have been led down a path that does not jive with the majority of thier party?

Will the core of the gop, that represents the core of the americans that have long supported them say enough? Get back to the important business of america? Recognize they represent, at best, half of america- and that they must do what has made our nation great fro so long- compromise. Trade horses. Work together in the interest of all americans?

Or will they shift farther to the right? Continue to put americas interests behind that oftheir own thirst for power? Can they really sleep at night if they are willing to spend another 4 years blocking progress in the hope that the worse things get the better their chances are?

About drugsandotherthings

I am a criminal. Because I have used cannabis and psychedelics extensively. I have tried many other drugs, but never cared for the uppers, downers, or dissociatives. I love craft beer, and absinthe, but don't care much for alcohols effects- which quite frankly, are boring and dangerous. Science is my religion. I am in my 40's, and have travelled extensively. And often forced myself outside of my confort zone. I am employed, a respected member of my communtiy, an animal lover, an environmentalist, a political junkie, and the realities I have experienced continue to push me further to the left of the political spectrum.

  1. List of X says:

I don’t think GOP will split. The mainstream party leaders surely realize that they can’t possibly get to the majority without their rabid base, and will try to hang on even if it will mean going farther and farther to the right.

  2. Sheesh…. if they can’t learn from their mistakes, they will stay by the wayside.
