Smart Bracelt to Protect Aid Workers

Skärmavbild-2013-04-05-kl.-09.23.42

I like this! A bracelt with Cellular, gPS and Sattelite functionality, that aid workers in volatile areas can wear. They can manually send a signal if they feel threatened, and it will automatically send a signal if iti is forcibly removed. The signal is sent out via social media (Facebook and Twitter) it seems to alert both the world and fellow workers in the area or region.

Part of a project named for Russian civil rights activist Naltalya Estemirova who was abducted and killed in Chechnya in 2009.

The group behind this, Civil Rights Defenders is looking for people to sign up to monitor the social media for specific aid workers. And they are also looking for donations so they can supply these to more aid workers around the globe.

About drugsandotherthings

I am a criminal. Because I have used cannabis and psychedelics extensively. I have tried many other drugs, but never cared for the uppers, downers, or dissociatives. I love craft beer, and absinthe, but don't care much for alcohols effects- which quite frankly, are boring and dangerous. Science is my religion. I am in my 40's, and have travelled extensively. And often forced myself outside of my confort zone. I am employed, a respected member of my communtiy, an animal lover, an environmentalist, a political junkie, and the realities I have experienced continue to push me further to the left of the political spectrum.
