Front Page Mag, one of the more obscure of the far right wings “news” sites, is running this pathetic article. Essentially about a proposed bill in California, AB 460 that would extend the states coverage of infertility treatment to Gay couples. Because current law requires healthcare providers to provide infertility treatment (excluding in-vitro fertiization) to any california couple who has tried and failed to conceive a child for a year via “regular sexual relations without protection“. So of course- insurance companies are choosing to discriminate against gay couples, because, well- obviously they can not conceive through regular sexual relations with their partner.
This “news” article starts with a picture of Biden talking to Obama with the caption “In CA I could have your baby” and lines such as “…it’s time to extend the civil right of a medical treatment meant to help biologically compatible couples to people trying to impregnate sheep and coffee tables…), while completely missing the actual point.
The actual point being to prevent discrimination against gay couples trying to have a child. Such as a lesbian woman who is unable to conceive via IVF. Or a gay man who has a low sperm count and can’t be the sperm donor.
Really, this whole article reads like a (Bad) version of the old Gilda Radner skit on SNL where her charachter Emily Litella did the op-ed piece on the weekend update news, becoming increasingly agitated- but her rant was always on something she had completely misheard/misundersood.
Like so much of the far right-wing(nut) news this would be funny if it weren’t so bloody pathetic and didn’t actually represent real views.
