Back at the beginning of spring a man and his child in San Francisco installed the above Faerie Door on a tree in SanFrans Golden Gate Park. While I’m sure many walked right past it without noticing, some did, and it became a sensation. Inspiring many people to leave notes, poems, and other gifts inside.
Of course in our society there had to be conflict and controversy. The PArks and Recreation Department learned of it- and removed it because it was installed on a live tree. Eventually, after public outcry, they replaced it with a copy.
The original creator and his son have since installed a second one, this time on a downed log.
Sometimes we all need a little reminder of the magic and simple beauty in this world.
