One of my favorite websites- Rational Wiki . A wiki site that started, as far as I can tell, to debunk sites using pseudoscience. But which has expanded to cover many sites that more prominently deal in politics.
Probably the first site I check (after search engines) when confronted with new “sources” of information.
While I suppose it can be argued they are “left leaning”, as due to religion the right tends to be more anti-science then the left, they really do a good job of nailing the BS on both the left and the right.
And I’ll admit- since the Sarin gas attacks in Syria I’ve been having to use it a lot more to investigate “sources” being touted by the far left.
It is one of the things that truly disturbs me about the internet. It has become much easier for those on both the far right and left to find sources that support their perceived reality. Nearly every event has become some sort of conspiracy, and people can find “the evidence” that keeps them from having to confront the realities of the complicated world we live in. To be forced to confront the absolutism of their beliefs.
