Oh the Irony: Gun Show Doesn’t allow Loaded Guns

I was looking at the website for Crossroads of the West, which claims to attract more visitiors then any other gun show in america. They seem to put on shows in three states- Nevada, Arizona, and California. The first two of which have, shall we say, very liberal laws on guns and concealed carry.

And I was rather surprised to find that they explicitly prohibit carrying of loaded firearms or magazines in the show. After all- we are talking about a gathering of gun enthusiasts. With an unusually high number of people legally permitted to carry loaded weapons. And an unusually high percentage of NRA members (indeed- you get $10 off admission just joining the NRA).

So I find it rather ironic, or more to the point, hypocritical, that the very people who support the push to allow loaded weapons in schools, bars, national parks,…well. pretty much everywhere- choose to themselves bar loaded weapons among a gathering of their own.

About drugsandotherthings

I am a criminal. Because I have used cannabis and psychedelics extensively. I have tried many other drugs, but never cared for the uppers, downers, or dissociatives. I love craft beer, and absinthe, but don't care much for alcohols effects- which quite frankly, are boring and dangerous. Science is my religion. I am in my 40's, and have travelled extensively. And often forced myself outside of my confort zone. I am employed, a respected member of my communtiy, an animal lover, an environmentalist, a political junkie, and the realities I have experienced continue to push me further to the left of the political spectrum.

I’ve never heard of them banning their own, and you’re right, this is SOOOO hypocritical! Guess they’re afraid of being shot by their own zealots!
