Do you know the truth about the deficit?

Well, if you’re a democrat you at least have a 50/50 chance. Republican- a pathetic 12% chance. (independents at 23%).

so- two simple graphs:

a truly pathetic state of affairs. As much as we love to blame the government, the media, the… for our current state of affairs- we ignore the underlying cause…a population that can not be bothered to understand what is really going on.

About drugsandotherthings

I am a criminal. Because I have used cannabis and psychedelics extensively. I have tried many other drugs, but never cared for the uppers, downers, or dissociatives. I love craft beer, and absinthe, but don't care much for alcohols effects- which quite frankly, are boring and dangerous. Science is my religion. I am in my 40's, and have travelled extensively. And often forced myself outside of my confort zone. I am employed, a respected member of my communtiy, an animal lover, an environmentalist, a political junkie, and the realities I have experienced continue to push me further to the left of the political spectrum.

And then they show up to vote based on what they “know”.

Exactly right on! In the end, it is the citizens that are allowing Washington to get away with what they do. Citizens don’t care, voters are uninformed and apathetic, allowing wing nuts like the Koch brothers and Teabaggers to take over, and Fox News to become the network of choice.

    • Yes, I largely agree. Though I must say as much as I despise the Koch brothers on many issues- I was rather shocked to see the money they have thrown behind issues such as reform of marijuana laws and legalizing gay marriage.

It’s a complicated world, and I think anytime we assume that “we” are right and “they” are wrong we close ourselves off to idea and information. We really need to move past the “us” vs “them” mentality. because no one is on the correct side of things all the time- and even when “wrong” may have valid points to temper the discussion

      • Barneysday says:

Good points, but the overwhelming evidence is against the Kochs, for their anti-environmental positions, along with supporting doing away with the minimum wage, deleting corporate taxes, and pushing for voter restrictions. If the preponderance of evidence is negative, and their overall level of impact to the majority of people is harmful, than I don’t feel bad in lumping them in with the others I’ve mentioned.
